Facts YOU Asked

1. Q: Where can I get new decals for my
bike? e.g. down tube decal, head tube
decal.

A: You can order decals for your Rocky
Mountain Bike from any RMB dealer for a
small cost.

2. Q: Why do you use two different
suspension systems? (unified and linkage)

A: For the same reason that car
manufacturers don't only make only one
type of car: not everyone uses their car for
the same reason and not everyone likes
driving the same kind of car. Different types
of suspension systems are best suited for
different types of riding. The linkage
suspension that we use for our
cross-country models is optimized for
efficiency and light-weight. The NE3
suspension on the Pipeline and the 2XS and
features extremely plush long-travel
suspension in light-weight and efficient
package for dual-purpose and fro-riding.
The high-thrust linkage suspension on the
RM9 is designed to deliver a whopping 9"
or rear-wheel travel for pro-level downhill
racers.

3. Q: Do you sell bikes factory direct?

A: No, we only sell our bikes through
authorized Rocky Mountain dealers.

4. Q: Do you sponsor regional level racers?

A: Yes, each of our sales reps sponsors a
certain number of regional riders each
season. To inquire, go to your local RMB
dealer, and they can put you in touch with
the rep in your area.

5. Q: Do you sponsor PRO level riders?
Where can I send my race resume?

A: Yes, please send you race resume/results
to:

1322 Cliveden Ave.
Delta, B.C. V3M 6G4
Attention: Sponsorship

6. Q: Which size bike is right for me?

A: The best way to size a bike is to try out
several sizes in person at a Rocky Mountain
dealer. Trying out several bikes will help
you find the best fit for your height, body
type and riding style.

7. Q: Where can I get retail pricing on
Rocky Mountain bikes?

A: Individual dealers set their own prices
based on our guidelines. To get the most
accurate price in your area, contact a
Rocky dealer.

8. Q: How can I find out if a certain fork is
compatible with my Rocky Mountain
frame?

A: In our "Owner's Manual Addendum", it
is stated exactly which forks work with
what frame: eg, what travel is/isn't allowed.
If your frame is a 1997 or newer model, all
this information is in your Owner's Manual.
If it is an earlier frame than 1997, contact a
Rocky Mountain dealer. If the dealer does
not know, contact us to confirm
compatibility. Using the proper fork with
your frame insures rider safety and warranty
coverage.

9. Q: Can I use a clamp / vice-like style
bike rack or work stand on my Rocky
Mountain bike?

A: Do Not clamp any "vice like" style bike
racks or work station stands on any Rocky
Mountain bicycle frame tubes. Due to thin
wall characteristic of today's light weight
frame designs extra care must be taken to
not crimp or compress the exterior walls of
the frame tubes. Your Rocky frame is
designed to withstand the rigors of riding,
not clamping. When using clamp-on style
repair racks, ALWAYS CLAMP ON THE
SEAT POST. For the proper use of
automobile transport racks, please refer to
the rack manufacturer's installation and
operating instructions.

10. Q: Where can I find the serial number
on my bike?

A: Your Rocky Mountain Bicycle serial
number is located under the bottom bracket
shell (see inset). Take a moment and write
this number down. You may need it for
reference in the event that you require theft
insurance

11. Q: Where can I get touch-up paint for
my Rocky Mountain bike?

A: Our bikes are painted using a powder
coat instead of wet chemical paint.
Therefore, we cannot supply touch up paint
as per say. We recommend using a high
quality model paint from a hobby shop or
automotive touch up paint.

12. Q: Is the derailleur hanger replaceable
on the 99 bikes?

A: Yes, the derailleur hanger is replaceable
on all 1999 aluminum bikes.

13.Q: Why did you discontinue the D.H.
Race and D.H. T.O.?

A: Our R & D department at Rocky
Mountain Bicycles has worked extremely
hard to push the limits of full-suspension
bicycle design. Our new "RM9" (full nine
inch usable rear wheel travel) has been our
focus for downhill suspension technology.

14. Q: What maintenance is required on
your full-suspension bikes?

A: Our full-suspension bikes require very
little user-maintenance. It is very important
to always clean your bike and inspect it for
cracks or damage after each big ride.
Occasionally you can check the shock
mount bolts to make sure they are tight, lube
the prelode threads (on shocks with coil
springs) and if the bushings ever squeak you
can apply a little bit of teflon-based lubricant
to them.

15. Q: How can I mount a disk brake to my
Rocky Mountain full-suspension bike?

A: We do have a limited number of C.N.C.
machined disk brake mounts that bolt on to
the non-drive side drop out. For 1999 we
will also offer new replacement chain stays
which have a disk mount welded on.
